 Our Purpose

What is Assistive Technology?

Assistive Technology is any piece of equipment or adaptation to the environment that helps a person with a disability achieve their objective. It may be as low-tech as a reacher or as high-tech as a computer controlled by voice.

How can we help you?

Our assistive technology services are provided with the experience that comes from analyzing and resolving accessibility barriers to employment and education for over 13 years. We have successfully delivered solutions in the public and private sectors; in local, state and federal government offices and we have worked with assistive technology companies in order to provide solutions or enhancements to their products. We can help determine which technology will be most effective in meeting your goals. Consultants can visit your home, school, or workplace. After evaluating your functional abilities and goals, the technologist will customize a solution, or recommend a device, and provide information on how and where to purchase it.

Selecting the right equipment is only part of the solution. We also provide the training needed to help you integrate this equipment into your everyday life.

What type of services do we provide?

On-site and Remote Computer Training
Specialized training in the use of the computer with adaptive software and hardware. This software and hardware requires a specialized trainer who is certified as a trainer in the adaptive software.

On-site and Remote Technical Support Services
These services include consulting, and support services or recommendations for employee accessibility needs. These services can be provided in support of an existing assistive technology solution, on an as needed basis, or they may be used to provide a new assistive technology solution. The Assistive Technology Consultant works either on-site or remotely with the individual in order to provide support services and resolve any technical barriers that are preventing the individual from accessing the system and performing the responsibilities of their position as required.
